![]() The solution is based around a new measure called ‘Total Training Hours’ on the course_bookings table. I also want to see total training hours delivered by each course. In other words, I want to see the rows excluded by the filter that’s applied when you select a school in the slicer. I wanted another table visualisation on the same report to show courses delivered to teachers in similar schools in the same geographical area as the one selected in the slicer - but not including the one selected. Power BI creates relationships between the tables (based on each school’s unique reference number) and I can quickly build the basic report. I connect to the data warehouse from Power BI and I can then see three tables - course_bookings, schools and website_regsitrations. The real work - loading and cleaning data from different operational systems- is all done in the data warehouse. They can use a slicer to pick a school and then see a summary of the courses they’ve delivered to teachers in the school and also website registrations - the teachers who subsequently registered on our client’s website to get access to free course materials.Ĭreating that simple report was easy. ![]() Our client wants to see course enrolments and website registrations for a single school. I said to him, 'Hey, dude, you don't have to give me anything. As a thank you to me for letting him use my drums, he gave me those. So, Cozy gave him some stuff, he had a case, some snare stands, some pedals. He used to work for Cozy Powell as a drum tech, when he played with (Queen’s) Brian May at some point. I got these from his personal collection. So, in the last gig, he comes up to me with those (pointing to the pedals) and he presents them to me. So, a few shows through that tour, here and there he would play my drums. And he was completely blown away by that, you know? Nobody does that, right. Some venues you couldn't put the whole back-line up, but I said, 'Hey, you can play my drum kit'. He was a really nice guy and we were playing a lot of venues. And of course I can't remember his name at this moment. “We were touring in the UK and a fellow, he was from New Zealand, was in a band that was supporting us. “How I acquired Cozy Powell’s pedals (above) was very basic,” he explains a truly remarkable tale of acquisition. But I really got into it when I was in my 20's, and fully turned it on in my 30's I guess. I still have the very first painting that I ever made. So I got introduced by my mother and she signed me up for art lessons. My mother, her brother's family, are famous painters. I was introduced to painting, and I kind of had a knack for it. “I painted since I was a kid, I started when I was eight. ![]() "I always wanted to paint,” he explains, about the roots of the passion. So what lit the spark in the ’80's when trying to launch a rock band and paint at the same time? That would be a normal year for me, because I'm always on the road. I made I think 18 one year, and 16 or 17 the next year. Since COVID, for two and a half years - and touring is going to start now - but that was the most paintings I ever painted in maybe my whole life. Yeah, but when you don't tour, like with this COVID thing, I painted the most pictures. “Either I'm touring, or I paint,” Reiner begins. So the drum legend gave BraveWords a rare glimpse at his passion for painting at his personal gallery that takes up virtually everywhere you look under his roof. What is an Animal Ambassador? However, long-term conservation success depends on educating and convincing local residents to coexist peacefully with them. In China, these alligators are deemed a “first-class rare animal” and are legally protected. However, Chinese alligators are being bred successfully in captivity and efforts have begun to introduce captive-bred animals into protected reserves in China to restock the wild population. The Crocodile Specialist Group of the IUCN cites less than 150 surviving in the wild. ConservationĬhinese alligators are listed as critically endangered by the IUCN, the world’s leading conservation organization. Chinese alligators continue to grow for the duration of their lives but grow most rapidly during the first five years. New hatchlings are only a few inches long and weigh about one ounce. They then carry their tiny offspring in their mouths to water and leave them. When they hear vocalizations from within the eggs, they dig them out and sometimes help crack the shells. After about two months, as the eggs start to hatch, the watchful mothers may assist. Females stay nearby guarding their nests while the eggs incubate. A few weeks later, females prepare mound nests and lay clutches of 10 to 40 eggs that they then cover with decaying vegetation. Raising YoungĬhinese alligators mate during the rainy season, usually in the month of June. Chinese alligators will prey on domestic ducks given the chance, and sometimes dig burrows into the banks of irrigation channels, causing them to collapse. Despite their protected status, local farmers have been known to kill them out of fear or frustration. Encounters between people and alligators usually end badly for the alligators. People have displaced Chinese alligators from most of their historic range. Adults are threatened only by humans but this threat is significant. The eggs and hatchlings of Chinese alligators are vulnerable to predation by other alligators, fish, and birds. Chinese alligators are much smaller and more docile than their American relatives. Today, only 2 species of alligator remain: the Chinese and the American. They belong to an order of reptiles – the crocodilians – that first appeared on the planet approximately 80 million years ago. “Making my mark”Īlligators are about as ancient as they look. They feed on mussels, snails, fish, and the occasional duck or rodent. They hibernate from early fall until late spring in burrows that they dig into the banks of rivers or wetlands. These mysterious and little known crocodilians spend much of their time in underground burrows or in water and do most of their hunting at night. The species is adapted to inhabit slow-moving rivers, swamps, and wetlands. They were once widely distributed in eastern China throughout the entire Yangtze watershed. ![]() Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, and InclusionĬhinese alligators are an extremely rare species now found only in a small area of protected reserve along the lower Yangtze River in the Anhui province of China. But do not take this lack of affection as that your snake does not like you. This means that if you apply an input voltage of 24 volts to the primary winding, the secondary winding will produce an output voltage of 12 volts. For instance, a transformer with a turn ratio of 1:2 will produce lower voltage output: half of the input voltage. The induced secondary voltage depends on the ratio of the number of turns in the primary and secondary transformer windings. For example, if the turn ratio is 1:1, the output voltage will be the same as the input voltage. The turn ratio between the primary and secondary windings determines the output voltage of the transformer. This fluctuating magnetic field induces an AC voltage in the secondary coil, which is proportional to the number of turns in the secondary coil. When an AC voltage is applied to the primary winding, it creates a magnetic field that fluctuates at the same frequency as the input voltage. The primary winding is connected to an AC voltage source, and the secondary winding is connected to the load. The transformer consists of two coils of wire: the primary winding and the secondary winding. Introduction Before diving into the specifics of 24VAC transformers, let's define what a transformer is. In this blog post, we will explore the working principle of 24VAC transformers, their types, and components, and the benefits of using them.
